Another obituary though I'm a day late: David Kimche, former Deputy Director of Mossad and later Director-General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, has died at age 82. Another writeup here. He had a long career, but as obituaries often do, his role in the Iran-contra scandal is what is being emphasized.
As a footnote, his late brother Jon Kimche (d. 1994) was a UK-based journalist and author who wrote many books on the Middle East.
