ReplyDeleteFirst item on the list is of greatest merit and interest. Issandr El Amrani, The Arabist, "The Arab Spring, US Foreign Policy, the Status-Quo Lobby and the Dream Palace of the Zionists." He really gets many of the basic themes that require a rethinking of US policy to adapt to realities of change in Egypt. One serious quibble: Egypt cannot hope to deal effectively with its looming economic catastrophe without a strong role for the IMF and the US. Withdrawal by Washington from the Arab world would be one more disaster for Egypt.
