Saad Eddin Ibrahim has returned to Cairo after three years of exile in the US. Last year a court reversed a conviction that was keeping him out of the country, though the government has frequently harassed him in the past and may resume its pressures. His case has been an irritant in US-Egyptian relations (he holds dual citizenship and his wife is US-born).
He is quoted as saying he's looking for a quiet visit with family and former students. I wish him well and hope he doesn't face new problems.
