POMED Publishes Guide to the Tunisian Elections

It all began in Tunisia, and this Sunday Tunisia will become the first of the "Arab Spring" countries to go to the polls, to elected a constituent assembly which will w5rite a new Constitution. The Project on Middle East Democracy (POMED) has put together a convenient briefing paper, "A Guide tothe Tunisian Elections," (Summary page: full text in PDF here). I'll have other links and posts as the election approaches, but this is an excellent place to start, with profiles of the major parties (there are something like 100 in all, but most are peripheral) and the main issues.and concerns in the campaign.
