Tunisian Defense Minister Quits as Cabinet Impasse Persists
Tunisian Defense Minister Abdelkrim Zbidi has resigned, accusing the government of a lack of vision, even as Prime Minister-designate Ali Laarayedh is losing potential participant parties and has been quoted as saying he "does not know" when he will be able to form a Cabinet. Though the Nahda Party has agreed in principle to appoint non-Islamists to the key security positions, there is still no agreement, apparently, on candidates.
