Deepening Clashes as the Sides Run Out the Clock

There are reports of clashes in various parts of Egypt between pro-Morsi and anti-Morsi elements, with the Brotherhood so far seemingly defiant and ready to go down fighting, while the opposition seem content to run out the clock, assuming the military will rescue the situation.

As we have seen in earlier outbreaks in Egypt and else here, social media provide a vehicle for the spreading of rumors; reports of shootings,  Army mobilizations, and the like. I think I'll reserve my own assessment until a little later, when the day is over (if, of course. anyone bothers to sleep on a night with so much at stake).
