Jamal Khashoggi Resigns as Editor of Al-Watan
Jamal Khashoggi has resigned as Editor of the Saudi newspaper al-Watan after it published a controversial article critical of Salafi Islam. The BBC has the story in English here. Though Khashoggi was apparently out of the country when the article appeared, the presumption is that he was forced to resign. He's been a prominent voice for reform and the newspaper one of the livelier ones, so this is probably bad news from a freedom-of-the-press perspective.
