MB, Wafd Pull Out of Runoffs
Both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Wafd have pulled out of the Egyptian runoffs on Sunday. As I noted earlier, their participation in the first round had given the government a certain credibility for the elections, despite widespread expectations of irregularities. Pulling out of the second round may amount to closing the barn door after the horses have fled, but it will embarrass the government a bit, perhaps.
