Opposition in Egypt Loses One MP

The Tagammu‘ party, Egypt's leftist opposition party, won five seats in the recent People's Assembly elections, running third after the NDP (420) and the Wafd (6). But the opposition just can't catch a break this week: one of the five Tagammu‘ MP-elects just died. They will apparently forfeit the seat, I guess to whoever ran second, doubtless an NDP guy.

Since he was elected before he died, they'll have a by-election - but these things take time in Egypt.
