Ahmad Bahgat, 1932-2011

 Writer, essayist, journalist and literary figure Ahmad Bahgat has died in Egypt. A brief obit here; a profile from 1998 here, and Zeinoibia's comments here. The bestselling author and columnist had a deep interest in Sufism, and died over the weekend, amid the celebrations of Naguib Mahfouz' 100th birthday (see previous post).
