Easter Pilgrimages: Two Accounts
Two articles on the obstacles the political situation create for Arab Christians: one on the problems West bank Palestinians have going on pilgrimage to Jerusalem;and the second on the difficulties Jordanian Christians face in visiting holy sites "in Israel" (here I think referring to East Jerusalem, though the Jordanian pilgrims may not recognize it as Israeli territory) As I've said before, the West only remembers that Middle Eastern Christians exist twice a year, at Christmas and Easter. But the difficulties the family in the first article face in getting from Ramallah to Jerusalem aren't there just at the holidays.
