A Personal Note
I'm still recovering from surgery 10 days ago and trying to get up to speed with both the Journal and the blog. Expect a more normal blogging pace soon.

Mike: Got back from two weeks in Scotland recently, during which I mostly took a vacation from Middle East. Was relieved today to find you are blogging again with your usual combination of erudition and good humor. Next time you post something about the Kurds, I will note some parallels with the Scots!
