Sanctions on Syria Extended

I really do intend to take the weekend off, but wanted to make sure you saw Josh Landis on Obama's renewal of sanctions on Syria; yesterday Landis explained why he was against it. I actually think with the Lebanese elections, new leadership in Israel, and so much else, US-Syrian relations may be the canary in the coal mine: let's watch and see what's happening there, as a clue to what may be happening elsewhere in the near term.
