Qadhafi's Party

Because I felt that the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II deserved the main focus on September 1, I didn't mention the 40th anniversary of the Great Fatih September Revolution in the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriyya. For those who are insatiably driven to know more about Qadhafi's 40th, here's a wrap-up from Al-Jazeera English. And yes, we will talk about the prospects of him pitching his tent in Englewood, New Jersey, soon.

An irreverent thought: Qadhafi's been in power for 40 years. When he took power, he was a captain. Now he's only a colonel. Hmm: not very rapid career advancement. After all, Saddam Hussein went from civilian to Field Marshal in one leap.

And it looks like Ahmadi's coming over too!
