Sorry I didn't stay up late blogging the returns from the Tunisian Presidential election, but the suspense (?) is over, and Ben ‘Ali has won another term with a mere 89.62% of the vote.

Perhaps they realized that 97% to 99% is just a bit hard to believe.

Bourguiba simply had himself made President for Life, saving the expense and trouble of actually running.
