Some Weekend Links

A few things published (or belatedly found by me) over the weekend:

• A Daily Star editorial that strikes a useful note of caution in a delicate moment.

• Ahmadinejad is skating on thin ice: firing the intelligence minister was daring, but by firing a second minister he may have forced a confidence vote on his Cabinet even before he's inaugurated for his second term. This Iranian drama isn't finished yet.

• Big turnouts in Iraqi Kurdistan, and gains by the Goran opposition, but still developing. And, a tad later, Juan Cole weighs in on the results.
  

• A little stale now, but a reminder that not everyone in Israel loves the settlements.
