I'm just guessing here, but since Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi (who vetoed the first version of the crucial Iraqi electoral law) has announced he will wait until Sunday to decide whether to veto its second incarnation (a court having ruled that since his deadline for a veto was Friday, he can wait until after the Friday-Saturday two-day weekend), I rather suspect he's going to be getting a lot of calls this weekend. General Odierno on one, Ambassador Hill on two, Prime Minister Maliki on three, President Talabani on four, maybe a few calls from Washington as well . . .
My own rule (not always successfully adhered to) is to try to clear the desk before the weekend . . .
